Mom noticed a few weeks back that Patrick held his hands and fingers up to pray rather than folding his fingers in. Patrick said to mom, "Do you know why I don't fold my hands to pray...because it hurts to bend them."

I talked with immunology doctors at Duke this afternoon.
She spoke with the doctor at NIH who leads the research clinics with
undiagnosed fevers, etc. and he does have a waiting list to get in. It
could possibly be 3 months...maybe a year before we get in to his clinic.
He has limited space now with the budget cuts.
In the meantime he does not want Patrick to go without a doctor
focusing on this so we are being referred to rheumatoid at
Duke...Charleston...or Charlotte. I mentioned the pain he has been having
in his fingers when he prays and how the oncology doctor noticed the
pain/stiffness he has in his knees and wrists....she will call today and feels
we need to be seen by rheumatolgy in the next few weeks. She didn't like the fevers and
nosebleeds he has been having although they have let up.
